Check the side cover and check it quick. I had a small rattle on my savage and found out it was the side cover but a little to late. Just when it fell off and went sliding down the freeway at 80mph. Wasn't pretty when I found it. I think the coal truck behind me ran over part of it. And my buddy that was riding behind me said it bounced off the road and just missed his head. Make sure that the tab on the bottom side of the cover is in the slot, it keeps the cover from moving around.
